Nosework, also known as scent work, is a canine sport that harnesses a dog's natural ability to detect scents. It's inspired by the training methods used to teach working detection dogs (like those used in search and rescue, drug detection, or explosive detection). In nosework, dogs learn to search for and identify specific scents in various environments. Nosework is not only a stimulating mental exercise for dogs but also strengthens the bond between dog and handler. It's inclusive, as any dog with a keen sense of smell can participate regardless of age, breed, or physical abilities. Beyond being a sport, nosework is often used as enrichment for pet dogs, providing mental stimulation and a sense of accomplishment. It's a rewarding activity that taps into a dog's natural instincts while offering a fun and engaging challenge for both dog and handler alike.
Nosework will run for six weeks. Class will be limited to 5 dogs per class.
*We must have at least 2 dogs in the class for it to proceed
